Lou's Village Restaurant

After 60 years the Muller brothers closed the restaurant having sold the property to  Summerhill Homes of Palo Alto. It is missed in the San Jose community...they are now reopening after five years.  Check out the History San Jose tribute to Lou's at www.historysanjose.org

Here's info about the old Lou's....

Welcome to Lou’s Village established in June of 1946 as a top nightclub and restaurant at this location on the edge of San Jose’s city limits. On our walls you will see the history of our family as well as the various performers who came through town entertaining the audiences of Santa Clara Valley. Many a famous movie star, producer or even novelist might be in the house on any given night to see The Ink Spots, Lenny Bruce, The King Sisters and many more luminaries of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s do their two shows an evening. As all things must, this era was fading by the late 50’s and owner Lou Santoro thought about the future. He and his son-in-law and partner, Frank Muller, decided they wanted to have a banquet facility and built “The Fiesta Room”. That was the start of one of the Bay Area’s largest restaurant and events facilities with full service capability for groups up to 900 people. The third generation, Tom and Tim Muller, have been here since the 70’s and have made Lou’s Village into a 28,000 square foot building with over 3 and 1/2 acres of free parking. “We specialize in seafood” says Tim,  “but we also feature great beef and pasta here at Lou’s.”  The years have also provided Lou’s Village with decades of customers. Tom Muller says: “The restaurant really seems successful  when I see new faces in the dining room sitting near someone who has been coming in for a while . We are actually a bit of tradition that San Jose recognizes and appreciates.” Together with the great food and service and the now central location, Lou’s Village again welcomes you and hopes you have an enjoyable time at “The Village”.
